Busy kids are happy kids. We here at
Salem
firmly believe in this statement. Our teens are meeting
every other week for a time of fellowship and spiritual growth.
We also have started a Bible study during the summer for our
teenagers. The kids also have a heart for helping people.
Four high-school students recently went on a missions trip to
the Red Bird Mission located in the heart of Appalachia in Kentucky. Several
are also volunteering their time at places such as
Union
Hospital and the 14th
and Chestnut Street Community Center.
Our younger children are also quite active.
We’ve recently seen a healthy increase in our Sunday school
class. In order to accommodate this increase, we started
using Veggie Tales in Sunday school. It’s amazing to see
talking vegetables cultivate spiritual “fruit” in our wee ones.
The group has also recently gone to the Build-A-Bear Workshop
and Jungle Safari in
Indianapolis.
